Route 66 Quarter Drop Mania and Route 66 Variety Show Event

Imagine going to school and your friends are talking about what they want for Christmas this year and your friends are excited because they know that their parents are going to top what they got them last year. You want to fit in, so you never reveal to your friends that what you want most is a pair of new socks without holes in them and maybe a pair of new sneakers and a coat to keep warm this winter. Your mom works two jobs and does her best to put food on the table and keep a roof over your head. At night, she struggles and cries herself to sleep wishing she could get you the toy she saw you looking at in passing.

Through the hard work and dedication of Staff Sergeant Derek F. Spoor, the Director of Toys for Tots of San Bernardino County, and his dedicated team; their continued efforts have made a huge impact in families lives through their gift giving efforts and Toys for Tots.

Most are unaware that Toys for Tots is a creation of the Marine Corp and In 1995, the Secretary of Defense approved Toys for Tots as an official activity of the U. S. Marine Corps and an official mission of the Marine Corps Reserve (Toys for Tots). Sadly, the above story is the story of so many children and their families and with the compassion of others these children could receive the gifts they desire this holiday season. Therefore, the Marine Corp felt through the creation of Toys for Tots the organization could assist in filling this void.

Over the years, many individuals, businesses, companies, organizations, and corporations have partnered with Toys for Tots to make an impact that would last a lifetime. They knew the power of gift giving would allow less fortunate children to see the light in the world when all too often they experience struggle. Together we can bring light into a larger number of children's lives one gift at a time.

Ambassador of the Route 66 Roadshow, Len Nordmann, Perry Pack Master of Ceremonies and Founder and CEO of the Ayden Rae Foundation and Vanessa Pack Founder and CEO Ayden Rae Foundation www.AydenRaeFoundation.org along with their amazing team are determined to give back and help Toys for Tots brighten even more children's Christmas morning. Dale’s Ole 66 Barber Shop

Excerpt from article at
Route 66 News

A clearinghouse of news and events about historic Route 66, the Mother Road.

August 6, 2015 The city council of Joplin, Missouri, on Monday night unanimously voted to approve a special-use permit for Dale’s Ole 66 Barber Shop.

"Len Nordmann, an automotive and Route 66 artist based in California, wants to buy the property and set up a gallery and visitors center and a display of Holly’s antique barber equipment. But doing so required rezoning because the property reverted to residential status after Dale Holly’s death."
